Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Customer Services Operative (Handyman) to join their team to manage day-to-day operations of remediation projects dealing with customer issues.
As the Customer Services Operative (Handyman) you will make sure that all appointments are attended to on time and that repairs are completed to NHBC standards. Complete works must be signed off in order for them to be closed down in accordance with the department targets and KPI’s.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Repairs
- Undertake planned and reactive remedial work with respect to all trades and any other duties as directed by the Customer Services Manager
- Undertake the coordinator of work as required and arrive on time
- Undertake any inspection of issues as required
- If more materials are needed, source them efficiently and with the agreement of the Customer Service Manager
- Ensure the standard of works is in accordance with the NHBC standards
- Obtain customer sign off on completed remedial works
- Ensure that any problems or incomplete work is reported to the CSC’s immediately
- Inform the CSC/CSM/HoCS of any problems encountered where a specialist contractor is required
Customer Service
- Regular Liaison with customers in their homes
- Regular Liaison with the Customer Services Department to ensure they are kept informed
- Regular Liaison with the companies clients and subcontractors
- Ability to remain calm and collected when faced with difficult customers and situations, so a high level of personal integrity and respect for others is essential
- Ability to communicate effectively at the same level of understanding with the customer
- Behave in an honest and trustworthy manner at all times
Teamwork
- Provide support and assistance with other team members
Cost Control
- Plan and carry out work in a safe and cost effective manner
- Be aware and observe opportunities to reduce costs and improve standards to ensure those ideas are shared with your team
- Account for expenses and produce accounts weekly
Health & Safety
- Ensure that Health and Safety is being followed, and site regulations are adhered to
- Carry out work in a safe manner, being particularly aware of customers and any children that may be in the home during the visit
- Ensure that all substances hazardous to health are used in accordance to COSHH Assessments
- Ensure that the loading of vans is within the manufacturers’ safe working limits
- Ensure any accidents, or potential risks are reported to a manager immediately
- Ensure correct PPE is always worn during site visits
