Aim of role

The out of hours coordinator (night shift) is responsible for managing the response to all breakdowns and vehicle issues outside of the standard working day and helping the hire desk stay pro-active during the day. This will include, liaising with the workshop, responding to driver calls, communicating with customers, general admin tasks, providing excellent customer service levels and ensuring there are minimal to no issues leading into the day shifts. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, flexibility and excellent communication skills.

Job summary:

  • Manage breakdowns and vehicle issues out of hours
  • Liaise with drivers and fitters to co-ordinate breakdowns and communicate with customer
  • If needed, co-ordinate the allocation of road sweepers and sprayers based on operational requirements after serious breakdowns.
  • Ensure regular communication to the Central Operations Managers and hire desk.
  • Support the hire desk where required, including, but not limited to, uploading orders onto the system accurately and efficiently, pre-assigning sprayer drivers to contracts per the calendar ahead of the following week and any admin tasks.
  • Ensure contractual and SLA obligations are adhered to, for our customers and from our suppliers (i.e. tyre fitter/recovery turnaround times and our response times to emergency call outs and sourcing replacement fleet following vehicle issues).
  • Raising POs for the workshop if required to call out suppliers and any admin required to support them.
  • Checking through the compliance matrix and raising anything due to expire via email.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Ideally experienced in logistics or transport
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be thorough and have an excellent wye for detail
  • Must be self-motivated and self-driven
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Confident in lone working

Hours: This is night shift only role and would be 9pm to 6am.
