Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Laboratory Equipment Manager to oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, qualification, calibration and troubleshooting of analytical and production equipment across our client's business. This role requires a flexible and supportive approach to meet evolving business needs and ensure service excellence. It's a great opportunity for any Analytical Chemists or QC Analysts that enjoy troubleshooting laboratory equipment and want to enter the realm of people management.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage the Equipment Team’s schedule to ensure timely routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
  • Carry out or delegate reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment, minimising downtime and monitoring performance against KPIs.
  • Develop specialist technical knowledge on a range of equipment and lead procurement processes.
  • Support projects, including equipment relocation and procurement.
  • Review and approve qualification data and ensure compliance with QMS records.
  • Provide management updates on team performance, equipment issues, and project progress.
  • Communicate effectively with the Manager and maintain key relationships across the business.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with company procedures and GMP principles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with a range of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC.
  • Previous calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
  • Preferably experienced in a GMP environment.
  • Experience in leading a team is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent IT literacy and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in team management.
  • Flexibility to meet the business needs.
