We are recruiting, on behalf of our lovely client based in Royston, for a full time ( but would consider part time) Payroll Supervisor. We are looking for someone diligent and hands on with previous Payroll experience within an Accountancy Practice.

You will have experience of end to end payroll, Xero Payroll and be a proficient user of SAGE with good mathematical and literacy skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Processing Clients Payroll, BACS payments, starters, leavers, holiday pay, pension deductions using SMP/SPP/ SAP and SSP etc
  • Building and maintaining good client relationships, liaising on payroll, employment and other matters, resolving queries promptly
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll matters and including current legislation and liaising with HMRC both in writing and on the telephone
  • Conducting compliance checks on a regular basis, Issuing P45’s, P60’s etc
  • Calculation of tax and NIC contributions
  • Dealing with auto enrolment, maintaining pension scheme records, schedules and payments and collaborating with colleagues to plan work schedule
  • Carry out RTI submissions and CIS returns
  • Setting up and closing PAYE schemes
