The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Senior Marketing Manager/Director level individual who has experience engaging with stakeholders in a Charity or Not For profit organisation. You will have a track record of working with peers at board/trustee level as well as external partners.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference within a charity who require support on a maternity cover basis for 13 months.

This role will be hybrid (2 days in the office at Rugby, 3 days working from home) and have responsibility for 4 managers (direct reports) and 8 indirect reports.

About the role

The purpose of the Head of Experience & Engagement will be to lead the engagement and marketing functions for the charity. You will be accountable for the profile and positioning of their support, ensuring beneficiaries know how they can help, and supporting their overall engagement with the charity. You will be part of a leadership team committed to creating an engaging, relevant and supportive organisation, a good place to work, and one that is effective and impactful in the work it does.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic leadership - You will be accountable for the development and implementation of an effective engagement plan and for the performance of multiple engagement channels, including website, digital marketing, PR, brand and traditional marketing activities. This will include the customer journey that making it simple and easy for beneficiaries to get the support (direct and indirect) they need.

Team leadership - Lead, manage and develop your team including 4 Managers and 8 indirect reports. You will influence and support colleagues across the organisation and contribute to the senior leadership team in the running and leadership of the organisation. This will include supporting the Board and its committees.

Internal engagement – Contributing to the improvement of internal communications and embedding the EVP proposition.

About You

We are looking for someone who has experience of charity marketing at a senior level and understands the concepts of mental health and hardship and has worked with professional groups. You will be results orientated but understand the sensitivities of charity positioning.

You will have a strong understanding of contemporary marketing and engagement frameworks and measures of impact. You will have overall broad multi-channel experience, working with a range of age groups, particularly with professional groups and more charitable environments.

Other skills which would be helpful include digital transformation and web applications, contemporary media relations practices as a mechanism to building awareness and sound budgetary management and forecasting skills.

You will have proven leadership and management skills, engaging in a collaborative way at all levels including a board of trustees, to achieve high performance and grow individual and organisational capability.
