Control Centre OperatorLocation: Town Hall, RugbySalary: £12.38 per hour (PAYE Pay Rate)

We are seeking a full-time, enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and customer-focused individual to join our 24/7 Control Centre team. This role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays, such as Christmas.

About the Role:

  • Primarily nights-based, with shifts running from 6 PM to 6 AM, though flexibility to cover day shifts is required for emergencies.
  • Operate the Council’s Lifeline system, responding to emergency calls from service users, including handling potentially distressing situations.
  • Manage out-of-hours inquiries for various Council teams, such as emergency repairs and homeless support.
  • Provide support to vulnerable adults, ensuring a professional and sensitive approach at all times.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills, clear spoken English, and a calm, confident manner.
  • Competent IT skills and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Full, valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Working with vulnerable adults or in a call center environment is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to provide holiday and sickness cover is essential.
