About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in CV21, Rugby. This is a full-time role providing whole-class support in a Reception classroom, working alongside the Class Teacher and HLTA. The role will involve leading small group activities, including focused interventions for children with SEN. Strong behaviour management skills are essential, as you will be supporting children with a range of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Class Teacher and HLTA in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Working with small groups, including children with SEN, to enhance learning and development.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to support children with additional needs.
  • Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, resources, and daily routines.
  • Liaising with staff and parents to support children's progress.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a primary school, Reception, or preschool setting.
  • SEN experience is essential, particularly with behaviour management and additional needs.
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
