Aspire People are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-respected SEN school in Rugby, dedicated to supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis starting this September.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualised support to students with ASD and SEMH, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.
Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and academic abilities through specialised interventions.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with ASD and SEMH in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs and strategies to support them.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs support is desirable.
