About the Role:Our client, a leader in the energy industry, is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations within the organization. You will manage financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while ensuring the company's financial health and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and the ability to drive improvements in financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Manage cash flow and optimize financial operations, including accounts receivable and payable.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, cost reduction opportunities, and revenue enhancement strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors for timely completion.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing regular updates to management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and management of taxes and other financial obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree or similar qualification in Accounting (ICAS or ACCA).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management, preferably within the energy or engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
