Our Client, a global - leading Pharmaceutical company is looking to bring in a Microbiology Shift Manager (MSM) who will lead a team of x5 microbiologists; our client offers a fantastic renumeration package, a chance to work at their state of the art facility (good central location) and career progression.
About the Role:
As a Microbiology Laboratory Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
Recruiting, organising, and managing laboratory personnel
Ensuring monitoring processes are accurate, up to date, and adhered to
Writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Overseeing sample collection and processing to maintain cleanroom controls
Reporting any out-of-limit (OOL) or out-of-specification (OOS) results immediately
Leading and assisting in investigations for deviations and environmental excursions
Coordinating laboratory activities, including:
Growth promotion testing
Environmental monitoring
Sample reconciliation and investigations
Identifying isolates up to species level
Managing and mentoring the team in sterility assurance and best practices
Ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
About You:
To excel in this role, you should have:
A degree in a relevant scientific discipline
Extensive knowledge of GMP in a microbiology laboratory
Proven leadership experience
Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams
Experience in writing SOPs
