Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a single-form entry primary school in Runcorn as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to cover maternity leave after the October half-term. This is a long-term full-time contract that will last for a minimum of two school terms.Your new roleIn your new role as a KS1 teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. You will work closely with the class teacher to aid in general classroom and behaviour management to ensure that all learning takes place in a stimulating, inclusive and engaging classroom. You will hold intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and small group basis across all KS1 (key stage 1 classes) and offer intense boosters to lower ability students in a separate classroom. You will also hold speech and language and phonics sessions to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with primary year groups in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience delivering intervention and booster session
  • Experience delivering phonics sessions
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning is advantageous
