Are you a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher ready to make a real difference? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for an exceptional SEN Teacher to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Runcorn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on the challenge of supporting students with additional needs and is ready for an immediate start.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher in this PRU, you will be working with a small group of students who have been referred due to social, emotional, or mental health needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of these pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with SEN, focusing on individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, including teaching assistants, to provide targeted support for each pupil.
  • Develop strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies to support student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methods to ensure all students succeed.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience in Special Educational Needs.
  • Previous experience working in a PRU or with students with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A positive and resilient attitude with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

To be considered for this position you will: - have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system - Be a committed professional - Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person -Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work) -have satisfactory references -have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained; - Have the legal right to work in the UK.
