SEN Teacher for Pupil Referral Unit in St Helens

Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher ready to inspire and support students with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a passionate SEN Teacher to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St Helens. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging environment and is eager to make a difference in the lives of young people. This position is available for an immediate start!

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher in this PRU, you will be working with students who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. You will play a key role in delivering a tailored curriculum that meets each student's individual needs, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive behaviour and academic progress.
  • Work closely with a team of dedicated professionals, including teaching assistants, to provide comprehensive support to each pupil.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience in Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience working in a PRU or with students with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude.
