Job Title: On-board Customer Service Assistants / Passenger Counters

Salary: £12.35 An Hour

Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 05:00 - 00:00.

What does an on-board passenger counter do?

· Be a self-motivated, reliable person to assist the on-board team in providing passenger counts.

· Travel on pre-arranged train services to count the number of passengers on the train as the train departs from every station.

· Be able to accurately record data.

· Provide an impeccable customer service experience to customers and passengers on the railway

· Being vigilant and visible to all customers and other members of staff

· Managing difficult situations

· Help passengers with luggage and buggies

· Communicate effectively with other staff and passengers in the interests of safety and customer service using information systems as supplied

· Have a strong understanding on station security including the HOT and WHAT protocol

· Report any anti-social behaviour with little disruption to other passengers as per the Railway Byelaws.

· Keep the train services tidy.

There are some hurdles of course….

· You must be able to get to your location of work for a 04:30am start and the latest finish could be as late as 01:00am.

· Shift times will vary between 4-12 hour shifts.

· You will need to pass a Drugs and Alcohol Medical.

· You will need to provide valid Identification, work permit (if applicable) and proof of National Insurance.

· You must have previous exceptional customer services experience in a similar position.

· Must be flexible to work shifts times, earlies, lates and weekends. You will be on a rota basis.

· Must be available immediately as these are temporary ongoing positions.
