Job Title: Plant Manager

Salary: Up to £55k + bonus

We are seeking an experienced Plant/ Warehouse Manager for our client specialising in manufacturing and distribution of heavy plant equipment for construction projects all over the globe.

Overseeing a team of 24 staff you will manage daily work schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of equipment, and that customer requirements are met. You will recommend, approve, and implement changes in procedures to improve the operational efficiency of the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing warehouse activities by monitoring productivity and daily work schedules
  • Ensuring warehouse workloads run at full capacity.
  • Maintaining oversight of equipment returns and ensuring accuracy and compliance with return procedures.
  • Conducting direct customer contacts for all damaged and unreturned equipment issues.
  • Directing trucking and shipping operations.
  • Conducting daily equipment reallocation as necessary to maximise lease pool utilization.
  • Leading and directing administrative functions
  • Developing and training employees, conducting employee reviews and development planning.
  • Handling disciplinary actions.
  • Inspecting materials to ensure quality.
  • Determining spacing requirements for storage.
  • Coordinating and reviewing safety and environmental issues of the warehouse and office facilities.
  • Ensuring maintenance of equipment and ensuring a safe, clean work environment.
  • Performing other job-related duties and special projects.

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing and distribution management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Sound commercial awareness and judgement.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations is essential
  • Must work effectively under pressure, exercise good judgment, and be a good negotiator.
