CS Construction Staffing is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of our clients on a permanent basis. This role will cover various operations across Scotland and England and offers a hybrid working model. You can be based in either Northampton or Glasgow.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial and contractual support across multiple business streams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with clients, external stakeholders, and internal teams, handling contract agreements, variations, claims, and payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Issue enquiries to sub-contractors and manage the tendering process.

  • Control project costs while maintaining high standards and quality.

  • Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts.

  • Oversee contract and subcontract management, including administration.

  • Certify payment applications from subcontractors.

  • Manage compensation events, change control, early warnings, and contractual variations.

  • Minimise disputes with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Prepare valuations and process payments to subcontractors.

  • Assist in preparing commercial and contractual responses.

  • Monitor project expenditure against budgets and forecasts.

  • Provide feedback on contract pricing, profit, and loss.

  • Attend financial and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor role, ideally in the engineering or construction sector.

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong ability to interpret contract documents, scopes of work, and drawings.

  • Expertise in financial cost control, value recovery, and change management.
