Property Lawyer

Local Authority - North Wales Contract Type: 3 months initiallyRate: £40-£50 - Negotiable DOE

A local authority based in North Wales are looking to bring in an experienced Property Lawyer to help their Legal Services team due to a peak in workload. This role involves handling a non-contentious caseload, providing expert legal advice on property, procurement, and contract law, and supporting key council priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and draft documentation for property transactions, procurement, and contract law matters.
  • Advise on freedom of information requests related to legal practice.
  • Represent the Council in tribunals, hearings, mediations, and inquiries when required.
  • Deliver training within areas of expertise and support junior staff and trainees.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support a collaborative, one-council approach.
  • Ensure high standards of legal practice, engage in continuous professional development, and attend relevant training

Key Requirements:

? Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Barrister with a current practising certificate? Minimum 2 years' post-qualified experience in one or more of the following areas: procurement law, property transactions and Construction contracts. ? Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills with excellent attention to detail? Experience with procurement challenges, property litigation, or project management (desirable)
