Reed Business Support in Cambridge are excited to offer the opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join a renowned family attraction in the beautiful Essex countryside. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a diverse range of responsibilities and takes pride in maintaining the beauty and functionality of a beloved public space.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, buildings, facilities and railway.
  • Lead and manage a team of facilities and grounds staff to ensure high service standards and productivity.
  • Procure and maintain all necessary equipment for the efficient operation of the railway and site.
  • Manage essential services including electricity, water, sewage and refuse.
  • Participate in a shared rota as one of the Duty Managers, which may include weekend work.
  • Perform various duties for Head Office and external company projects regularly.
  • Prioritise workload based on weather conditions, emergencies and an extensive year-round task list.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Woodland management skills, including chainsaw certification.
  • Experience with horticultural machinery.
  • Competency in basic building maintenance tasks such as woodwork, plumbing, electrics, and painting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • A proactive and driven approach to tasks.
  • Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays.
  • Strong team leadership and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • IT literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Hands-on mentality with a willingness to complete projects.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience working to a budget and meeting annual targets.
  • Verifiable references from recent employers.
