Cover People partners with a  range of secondary across Manchester and the surrounding areas, providing high-quality teachers and support staff for both long-term and short-term roles, as well as permanent and daily supply positions. We collaborate with state, private, and independent schools, building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.

We are currently looking for Graduate Teaching Assistants for secondary schools in Trafford for roles beginning asap. Roles are full time, long term, term-time only (8.30am-4pm).

Responsibilities for Graduate Teaching Assistant include:

  • Commit to supporting students in reaching their academic potential.
  • Motivate and inspire students to actively participate in their learning journey.
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with additional needs, fostering their progress and confidence.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment that promotes effective learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support student learning, development, and classroom activities.
  • Assist in managing behaviour effectively, reinforcing positive behaviour strategies.

You will:

  • Be educated to degree level in any subject area
  • Have previous support work experience within a school or other child related experience.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a professional and friendly approach.
  • Have knowledge and experience supporting children within special educational needs (desired)
  • Secondary experience preferred but not essential.

Ideally you will already have some experience working with young people, or you may be considering furthering your career in education as a teacher (desirable but not essential). Maybe you are taking a year out before doing your Masters or a PGCE?
