Job Title: Data Protection and Regulatory Manager

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: up to £55k per annum (+ benefits)

Reports to: Head of Compliance, Risk, and Governance

Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Protection and Regulatory Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Risk, and Governance, this role will oversee the delivery of all Data Protection requirements and ensuring adherence to Data Protection regulations. The role will also support regulatory obligations under Ofcom rules, engage with stakeholders on change implementation, and lead internal inquiries and compliance audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and outline requirements under the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, ICO best practice guidelines, and all other relevant data privacy regulations.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate risks, applying subject matter expertise (SME) to prevent potential issues by maintaining a robust control framework.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and processes, streamlining them and aligning with best practices across all business units.
  • Provide internal and external communication updates, including horizon scan activities and serving as the point of contact for external regulator inquiries.
  • Support mandatory training and awareness programs to develop organizational understanding and capabilities in data protection.
  • Conduct assurance reviews on regulations impacting TTBD, ensuring business units understand control gaps and collaborating with them to close those gaps.
  • Manage day-to-day data protection activities, including DSARs, data breaches, security incidents, RIPAs, and EBD.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in compliance and DPO roles within highly regulated environments.
  • Advanced understanding of Data Protection Regulations and best practices to effectively address control deficiencies.
  • Proven experience in conducting regulatory gap analysis and policy creation.
  • Familiarity with completing audits on Ofcom regulations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
