With key responsibilities ranging from preparing monthly management accounts to supporting strategic decision-making through detailed KPI reporting, this role is perfect for someone looking to play a major part in a dynamic team.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager, you will be a vital member of our client's finance team. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure financial excellence across the organisation. Your role will involve overseeing junior staff, leading the monthly management accounts process, supporting strategic planning, ensuring compliance, and collaborating on year-end accounts. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing and optimising accounting practices, delivering financial analyses for business growth, assisting in evaluating investment opportunities, and fostering a learning-oriented team culture.

  • Oversee and mentor two Junior Assistant Management Accountants.
  • Lead the monthly management accounts process, including preparing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Support the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate on year-end statutory accounts, audit preparation, and handling tax queries.
  • Regularly assess and optimise accounting practices.
  • Deliver financial analyses to support business growth.
  • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities by developing comprehensive business cases.
  • Foster a learning-oriented team culture.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position will bring a wealth of skills and qualifications. Strong Excel capabilities are essential for this role along with excellent organisational and time management skills. An initiative-driven attitude is crucial as well as adaptability and resilience. The ability to engage effectively across teams is also important. Experience working within retail is desireable.

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification
  • Strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, look-ups, and formulas).

  • Ability to engage effectively across teams.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of e-commerce or retail, stock management, multi-currency/forex transactions, and experience with Sage 200 or similar.
