Science teacher - Salford - Spring term A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a Good secondary school in Salford, to join them on a full-time basis for the spring term, teaching key stage 3 & 4 classes. There could be a possibility of it continuing into the summer term however, this is yet to be confirmed. This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Salford teachers. You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL. This is a Good school that is highly ambitious for all, including SEN students. The staff have high expectations of the pupils in terms of work and behaviour. The head is extremely well though of by his peers and receives accolades from the wider trust and SLT across the area. on top of this the school have built an environment of trust between the staff and pupils, resulting in tolerance and acceptance of other peoples differences. Pupils benefit from many opportunities to develop their leadership, for example by becoming a form voice advocate or subject ambassador. Pupils learn about democracy through the pupil parliament. They gain valuable experience of working with the community. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS: Location Salford Position Science Teacher (KS3 & 4) Type of work Full time Start date January 2025 Likely Duration 1 term End date - April 2025 Contract type Temporary Minimum rate of pay from GBP162.31 per day Hours 8:30am 4pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Degree educated with a good classification, preferably Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Science Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference) Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training) Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training) Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
