Description

You will head up the procurement function and provide the strategic lead for procurement across the organisation. Leading a small, although highly effective, team, activities will range from managing the coordination of procurement and contract management activities, liaising with the individual business areas to provide sound procurement advice.

  • Providing strategic procurement advice across all levels and departments of the organisation to inform decision making
  • Ensuring the procurement activity is compliant in relation to UK procurement law (Procurement Act 2015) and represents best practice
  • You will be a strong stakeholder manager with commercial awareness and strong negotiating skills
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Lead, develop and motivate the procurement team
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Work closely with other departments to forecast future supply needs
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve procurement processes
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing

Profile

A successful Procurement Manager should have:

  • A Procurement Industry related Professional Qualification (MCIPS, CIPS, Logistics and supply chain MSc or equivalent similar) or working experience towards
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the Not For Profit / Public Sector and you must have full knowledge of Procurement Act 2015
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to develop relationships with suppliers
  • A good understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
