Our client in Salfords is seeking a dedicated and efficient Stock Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the inventory is well-organised and readily available for our customers. This position involves managing stock levels, maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment, and ensuring smooth operations to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, store, and organise incoming stock items in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure shelves are stocked accurately and efficiently, adhering to category management principles.
- Assist in the organisation of the warehouse to facilitate easy access to products.
- Perform regular inventory checks to ensure stock accuracy and report any discrepancies.
- Safely and effectively operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimise logistics and business processes.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and movements.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the warehouse environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with category management practices.
- Proficient in materials handling techniques, including safe operation of forklifts.
- Knowledge of business processes related to warehouse management.
- Experience with Power BI or similar data analysis tools is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
