Job Summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Dietitian with a specialism to join our dedicated Dietetics team at Salisbury District Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality, evidence-based dietetic services tailored to patient needs across various specialisms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Expertise: Deliver specialized dietetic assessments, individualized treatment plans, and follow-up services for patients within the specified specialism.
  • Patient Care: Provide nutrition support, monitor progress, and adjust care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other allied health professionals, nurses, and doctors, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Education & Training: Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on diet and nutrition, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment in line with NHS policies and data protection standards.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest evidence-based practices and attend regular training sessions to enhance skills within your specialization.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Professional Registration: Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience: Relevant clinical experience at Band 5 or above within the NHS or equivalent healthcare setting, ideally within a specialized area.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Attributes
  • Specialized experience or training in an area relevant to Salisbury District Hospital's needs (e.g., oncology, diabetes, gastroenterology).
  • Experience in patient education and training healthcare staff.
