I am recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our client based in Salisbury. The team works hybrid and they would like someone happy to come into the office 3 days a week with the option tow work 2 days a week remotely.

Working within the aerospace industry, our client work on a variety of exciting and diverse projects, they have rapidly grown over the past few years (50 to 180 heads) and are at a super exciting time in their journey.

They started several years ago making flight control systems and soon graduated into complex Unmanned Aviation Vehicles. These devices have been used around the world, not just through the MOD, but in air sea and rescue, mapping deforestation and most recently helping stop modern-day train robberies in America.

They have recently been acquired and are in an exciting investment stage and have been given access to an enviable amount of resources to keep them innovating

They are now looking for their very first Business Analyst to join their software engineering team as part of their planned growth.

Within this role you will be working closely with internal stakeholders, external customers, and the software engineering team across multiple projects. You'll translate high-level business and project objectives into detailed requirements and user stories and work closely with their software development team.

Responsibilities will include

  • Capturing and documenting requirements from customer meetings
  • Creating and aligning epics, features, and user stories with project milestones
  • Prioritising issues with stakeholders and assisting in breaking down tasks
  • Ensure issues meet the software team's definition of "ready"
  • Help achieve delivery milestones

Their ideal person will ideally have worked as a Business Analyst on software projects within either the Defence or Aerospace industries and be happy to work as the sole Business Analyst initially. You will be adept at writing software-specific requirements, user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria, while also being capable of effectively analysing business and project needs.

A strong understanding of Agile practices is also super important and a proficiency in Jira or similar issue-tracking tools would be great.

You will also need to be eligible for Security Clearance which means you need to hold a current British Passport.

Salary is up to £50,000 plus bonus of up to 15% and good benefits including 25 days annual leave (with bank holidays on top) with the option to buy to sell an additional 5 days holiday, Income Protection Insurance , Private Health Insurance, Private Dental, Contributory pension and enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
