We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen/Stone Fitter to join our client based in Salisbury.
Job Responsibilities for a Kitchen/Stone Fitter:
Stone Cutting and Fitting:
- Measure, cut, and install stone surfaces (granite, marble, quartz, etc.) to fit kitchen countertops, splashbacks, and other designated areas.
- Use specialised tools to shape and polish stone for a seamless finish.
Surface Preparation and Finishing:
- Prepare surfaces by levelling, smoothing, and treating them before installing countertops.
- Apply finishing touches to ensure a high-quality installation, including sealing stone surfaces to protect against stains and damage.
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:
- Review and interpret kitchen design plans and blueprints to determine dimensions, specifications, and materials required for the installation.
Material Handling and Safety:
- Safely transport and handle heavy materials, such as stone slabs, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure safe working conditions for yourself and others.
Problem-Solving and Adjustments:
- Make adjustments to fit stone surfaces to accommodate discrepancies in the original design or site measurements.
- Identify and resolve installation issues such as misalignment, uneven surfaces, or incorrect dimensions.
Customer Interaction and Service:
- Communicate with clients to understand their preferences, offer advice, and ensure satisfaction with the final installation.
- Provide clients with information on maintenance and care for stone surfaces.
Collaboration with Other Trades:
- Work alongside electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople to ensure that stone surfaces are installed in coordination with plumbing, wiring, and other essential components.
Maintenance of Tools and Equipment:
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of tools, machinery, and equipment used in kitchen and stone fitting tasks.
Quality Control and Inspection:
- Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Correct any defects or inconsistencies before final handover to the client.
- These responsibilities help ensure the safe, accurate, and high-quality installation of stone surfaces, contributing to the overall functionality and aesthetic of kitchens in homes or commercial spaces

Requirements:
- Experience in kitchen or stone fitting
- Valid driving licence
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
