About the Role
Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional with a background in procurement and operations? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement & Operations Administrator to join our client's team.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a key role in purchasing materials, managing supplier communications, and supporting import/export procedures in compliance with regulations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic engineering procurement environment, ensuring smooth operations and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Communication: Obtain and analyse quotations with cost breakdowns from suppliers.
- Purchase Order Management: Raise and process Purchase Orders (POs) and Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
- Procurement Documentation: Generate Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quotations (RFQ).
- Price & Delivery Negotiation: Liaise with suppliers to secure the best prices, lead times, and service capabilities.
- Quote Analysis: Prepare comparative analyses to support decision-making.
- Invoice Resolution: Handle invoice queries and discrepancies to ensure smooth transactions.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Provide data and reports to assess and improve supplier performance.
- Import & Export Compliance: Ensure all customs documentation and clearance tasks are completed in line with regulations.
- Purchasing Reports: Prepare reports for internal stakeholders to support business operations.
- General Support: Assist in any other business-related tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Experience working in an engineering procurement environment.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing industry.
- Knowledge of exporting and importing goods.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure the best commercial outcomes.
- Ability to handle complex issues with multiple variables.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with confidence to engage suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of procurement best practices.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with engineering terminology and methodology.
- Exposure to multiple process operations.
- Experience working with MRP-generated Purchase Orders as well as standalone requisitions.
