Our client is a leading design and manufacturer of full turnkey projects for food processing & packaging machinery. With a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team. This role will be a keep player in the production process, ensuring all designs fit customer briefs. You will be liaising with fitters, and controls engineers to problem solve any issues.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working within a team of design engineers, designing a comprehensive range of food processing and packaging machinery for manufacture
  • Create designs for control panel layouts, schematic drawings with component and cable specifications
  • Spec and source components and other hardware in line with the purchasing & software team
  • Create electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel design software
  • Create BOM's, price reviews and liaise with project engineers throughout design process
  • PLC / HMi selection in line with the software department
  • Working with low voltage single & 3-phase systems, ranging from 24V - 600V
  • Provide technical support and advice on matters concerning product quality & testing
  • Specific project work, adhering to appropriate legislation/standards for electrical safety

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have experience of electrical wiring / control panel design projects
  • Previous electrical CAD experience with Eplan Pro Panel design software
  • Qualified to HNC/HND in electrical engineering
  • A flexible approach to tasks
  • Excellent problem solving abilities, with an eye for detail
  • Ideally have knowledge of PLC hardware & software
  • Able to read & interpret technical diagrams for electrical systems
  • Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics beneficial
  • Bonus if qualified 18th Edition
  • Beneficial to know about industrial network systems - Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP
