- Managing the accounts function for a number of companies and a holding company.
- Preparing financial reports and financial statements.
- Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations to directors for strategic decision-making.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with the directors to develop accurate forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Develop financial models and scenarios to support strategic decision-making and investment analysis.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Management of a small finance team, circa 4, with 1 direct report
- Production of monthly management accounts and preparation of annual financial accounts
- Providing accountancy support to the wider business as required
- Any other ad hoc duties, as required
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) qualification, or be an experienced QBE
- Previous team management/people management experience
- An ability to interpret financial data, apply solutions and strategies to business planning
- Strong systems knowledge (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks) including ERP systems, as well as advanced Excel skills
- Driven, passionate about accounts and looking to eventually be the number one in the finance function
