As a Teaching Assistant, your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing 1:1 or group support to children with additional needs including Autism, SLD, and complex learning needs.
  • Assisting with personal care and life-skills development, using a person-centred approach.
  • Working closely with class teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to deliver holistic support.
  • Helping to create inclusive classroom environments that meet diverse needs.
  • Applying your care experience to build trust and promote independence in pupils.

Ideal Backgrounds Include:

  • Support Work (Adults or Children).
  • Residential or Domiciliary Care.
  • Youth Work or Family Support.
  • Psychology and Health & Social Care Graduates.
  • Experience with personal care, de-escalation techniques, or non-verbal communication is a beneficial, but not essential.
