The Company
Our client is a fast-growing SME in the e-commerce space, known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. With a loyal customer base and ambitious growth plans, they're looking for a hands-on finance professional to support their expanding operations. The Role
As an Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll ensure smooth financial processes and accurate reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing transactional finance, including purchase and sales ledger
- Bank reconciliations and processing payments
- Assisting with month-end duties, including accruals and prepayments
- VAT returns and compliance
- Supporting cash flow forecasting
- Helping improve financial processes as the business scales
About You
- We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in an SME environment. You'll likely have:
- Experience in bookkeeping or an assistant accountant role
- Strong understanding of transactional finance and reconciliations
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks)
- AAT qualification (or working towards), with desire to pursue ACCA, CIMA in the future - desirable but not essential
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in
