We require a time served Turner for our well-established client in the Scunthorpe area.
As a Turner, you must be time served and be able to operate metal lathe machines and ensure that components meet strict specifications. You must be able to read and understand technical drawings and a knowledge of horizontal and vertical boring machines would be beneficial. Because of the environment of this role, you must have worked in a heavy industrial environment and be able to work on your own initiative.
Requirements
- To create precision-engineered parts from blank metal using techniques including:
- Prepare and use horizontal and vertical boring machines
- Prepare and use lathes for turning operation
- Prepare and use milling machines
- Interpret drawings
- Must have NVQ3 in Machining or equivalent.
- Highly experienced in use of Centre Lathes
This is a permanent position in a good working environment.
Your rate of pay will be £17.75 to £19.00 per hour.
Your hours of work will be 38hr week (Monday to Friday) working 7:00 – 15:30 and an early finish on a Friday. Overtime is available dependent on the workload.
