Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Special Needs School in Scunthorpe. This is a full time and long term role with the possibility of this role going permanent for the right candidate. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to students with complex needs, physical disabilities and other special needs. This role gives you an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young students and work closely with teachers to ensure students receive the necessary support to excel academically.

Responsibilities:

  • Offering support to students with their studies, including one-to-one.
  • Support pupils with complex needs.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Providing guidance and support to students, ensuring their welfare is protected.
  • Contributing to the development of school policies and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant, working within care or support roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A caring and nurturing personality.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • A valid child only DBS check.
