This firm provides a full range of accountancy and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on supporting SMEs and owner-managed businesses. Summary of Job Role

This role is ideal for an experienced and motivated individual with a background in accountancy practice. As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a key role in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns while supporting managers across a varied client portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical skills and gain exposure to a wide range of industries.

Key Attributes Required:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective client relationships
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Person Specification:

  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA (or equivalent). If you meet the criteria but are not studying, you are still encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Maintain clients' financial records using cloud-based accounting software
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries, delivering excellent service
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition

Financial Statements & Taxation:

  • Prepare financial statements for non-audit limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions
  • Prepare corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and personal tax returns

Team Development:

  • Support and mentor junior team members and apprentices
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment
