This Interim HR Advisor role is a pivotal position within the Human Resources department of an established industrial manufacturing firm. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering a hands on HR service to the business.

Description

The interim HR Advisor will work as part of a large HR operations team supporting the Scunthorpe site. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing clear advice, guidance and support to management and colleagues throughout the general employment lifecycle, as a first-line operational HR contact. This will include during onboarding, induction, probation, training and development, career progression and leaving the business.
  • Supporting line leadership in higher-level people casework, including in disciplinary, grievance, conflict resolution, reorganisation and absence management, to help deliver business-appropriate outcomes. Maintaining good case records and taking meeting minutes as necessary.
  • Ensuring proper guidance and support for line leadership as they facilitate their own lower-level people casework, to help deliver business-appropriate outcomes.
  • Providing sound advice and guidance to leaders in people matters, in consideration of all relevant company process and statutory provisions; conducting personal research and/or seeking guidance or legal advice as appropriate. Delivering well-balanced options and advice to line leadership with clear recommendations and risk analysis.
  • Effective use of the Company HR systems to enhance HR technology output and other relevant processes for all involved. Supporting colleagues and leaders in the proper use of Self-Service.
  • Supporting leaders in producing useful reports and metrics and in analysing the key people data, to aid effective people practice including resource planning, budgeting and absence management.
  • Developing strong professional relationships with the line leadership population to support leadership development and performance in all people matters.
  • Maintaining a good personal knowledge of recent, current and forthcoming developments in employment law, at generalist practitioner level.

Profile

The successful Interim HR Advisor should have:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, including a practical application of skills in HR casework such as disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and absence management.
  • Experience of working with multiple priorities and delivering as required by company process and statutory provisions, as well as internally established expectations.
  • Experience in a similar manufacturing environment with trade union recognition preferred.
  • Experience in successfully using a HR system to support effect HR output. Previous use of iTrent/MHR systems would be an advantage.
