Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment within a heavy industrial environment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on large machines, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and presses.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and resolve potential issues before they affect production.
  • Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and modifications to improve operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to maintain and improve production line performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Recognized mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, and other mechanical repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery environment is desirable.
