North Lincolnshire

Grafton Recruitment are working with a large global manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Buyer to join them in the North Lincolnshire area.

As a Buyer you will be responsible for the procurement function including sourcing, negotiating, purchasing activities and building supplier relationships.

THE ROLE:

Some of your responsibilities as a Buyer.

  • Support the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager with administration and other duties as required.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to improve the cost base and achieve savings on pricing and other commercial terms.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure that supply chain risks are identified and mitigated on a daily basis.
  • Manage indirect spend contracts
  • Ensure quality levels and on-time delivery
  • Analyse and report on supplier performance and commodity price movements
  • Identify purchasing strategies to achieve the lowest total cost to the business whilst ensuring quality, reliability and resilience of supply and meeting the environmental and sustainability requirements of the business.
  • Liaise with production staff on materials issues and requirements.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Can demonstrate previous procurement experience in a fast paced procurement department and manufacturing facility.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Knowledge of ERP system such as Sage or SAP
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills
  • GCSE standard of equivalent in English and Maths
