Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing procurement processes, ensuring that the supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing high-quality products at competitive prices while maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers.
Duties
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and delivery schedules.
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate the delivery of goods and manage inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information for reporting purposes.
- Work closely with internal departments to forecast demand and align purchasing strategies accordingly.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- Solid understanding of logistics principles and supply chain management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
- Experience in selling or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in using an ERP system such as Sage or SAP.
