  • The role requires the candidate to be office-based in Selkirk for the initial week, with a potential for a hybrid working arrangement thereafter.

My Borders based client is in need of a temporary Finance Administrator with immediate effect to work as part of a small team to enter and update data on their repairs management system.

They will provide full training to enable the successful candidate to use their repairs management system to update details on existing jobs in the system to ensure that they are fully complete and any variations have been completely entered.

They will also help to reconcile transactions in the repairs management system with those in the financial information system.

The candidate should be able to identify any anomalies or issues which might need to be referred to a supervisor for investigation.

The candidate would need to be based in our office in Selkirk for at least the first week (for familiarisation and training) and ideally would be fully office-based, but a hybrid working pattern could be considered.

Person Specification

  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good data analysis skills - ideally, experienced in using Vlookups, filters, pivot tables, sumif, subtotals, or demonstrate eagerness and ability to develop their excel skills.
  • Experience in carrying out reconciliations / understanding of the importance of reconciliation controls and how they work.
  • Able to learn quickly how to enter data into our repairs management system (full training provided).
  • Good attention to detail is essential.
  • Able to work as part of a team and in an open plan office.
  • Able to follow instructions and to ask questions and seek help when necessary.
  • Good keyboard skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Logical thinker with questioning mindset.
