SRM are partnered with an established and highly regarded Property Development company to hire a strong Senior Management Accountant / Finance Manager

The company is led by a strong and well experienced Board of Directors with a proven track record of delivering success in the industry. This is an exciting time to join the company as they look to grow their operations in the Southern Home Counties with a strong pipeline of future developments over two key regions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Preparation of scheme Cost Monitors for Commercial, Technical, Build and Land & Planning teams, updating for spend incurred to date.
  • Business Partnering with all teams to ensure scheme budgets are adhered to and costs to complete are allowed for.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller to producing accurate and informed Cash Flow Forecasts for schemes under development, at the design phase and pre-planning.
  • Involvement in maintaining scheme-wide Appraisals, including reconciliations to monthly management accounts.
  • Ownership of the Weekly Cashflow Forecast, which is used for managing the short-term cash requirements of the regions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of finance schedules for inclusion in Board Packs.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in the annual Budget setting process, including helping with the preparation of 5-year forecasts, overhead projections and land bank.
  • Monthly preparation of Management Accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register and submissions to the Group Finance team
  • Monthly journal postings and closing the ledgers.
  • Production and submission of statutory filings, including VAT and CIS returns.
  • Monthly preparation of regional Payroll schedules, liaising with external payroll provider and uploading payments for net pay and PAYE / NI liabilities.
  • Reviewing and approving payment runs prepared by the Accounts Payable team.
  • Assist in the year-end audit, including preparation of audit schedules and reviewing draft financial statements.
  • Assist in reviewing year-end corporation tax returns.
  • Raising sales invoices to our scheme Partners, ensuring payments are received in a timely manner.

Key Requirements:

  • 1-2 years post qualified experience (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Experience in housebuilding, development, real estate or infrastructure.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Driven and hardworking.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Competent understanding of key Microsoft Excel functions and formulas.
  • £60-65k base
