A Financial Times, top 1000 Fintech company is looking to expand its Credit Risk team and is searching for a Credit Risk Manager to help grow the business whilst maintaining an acceptable level of risk. You could be a Credit Risk Analyst looking to step up or could be a Credit Risk Manager looking for a new challenge. You will require a minimum of 3 years experience in a credit risk role and will be educated to degree level. This is a demanding but rewarding role that offers many exciting workstreams and provides an opportunity to shape the direction and risk approach of a fast growing yet established FinTech company. This role does not have any direct reports but will require interfacing with all other areas of the business including Technology, Finance, and Underwriting. Some examples of the exciting things you may be working on include:

  • • Using analytics to enhance existing arrears collections strategies and develop new ones• Provide constructive feedback and influence the customer management teams• Identify new data sources to improve collections and deploy in partnership with the Technology and Data teams• Creation and assessment of new collections scorecards, in close partnership with data scientists• Preparation of monthly Board reporting and materials for Credit Committee meetings• Macro modelling and assessing the impact on the company's loan portfolio• Reviews of portfolio trends and key performance indicators, with deep dives as needed• Providing risk consultancy to other areas of the business• Reporting findings to senior management and Board level

About You

  • • Analytical mindset - you spot trends and notice details, and have a natural intellectual curiosity• You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can take ownership and work independently towards tight deadlines, prioritising your work appropriately• Good interpersonal and communication skills; you are comfortable presenting and explaining technical information in a non-technical way• Strong service focus and a passion for delivering high quality end-user experience to internal and external clients• Desire to work in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment with a "start-up" feel• Lifelong learner - you have a drive to learn and continually develop your skills and abilities• Must be willing to occasionally step outside the role of a traditional risk to achieve wider business objectives• Comfortable identifying and raising issues, particularly where driving good outcomes for customers are concerned

You will possess:

  • Degree educated in a numerate or analytical subject (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or similar).
  • Proven experience in credit risk management, gained with consumer lending.
  • Solid understanding of credit policy governance framework and core credit concepts such as PD, LGD, and EAD
  • Strong experience in making data driven decisions
  • SQL
  • Python/R modeler
  • Scorecarding experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Lifelong learner - you have a drive to learn and continually develop your skills and abilities
  • Must be willing to occasionally step outside the role of a traditional credit risk manager to achieve wider business objectives
