About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager to oversee our transport operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient and compliant running of our fleet while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage and maintain compliance with all transport regulations, including vehicle maintenance and driver hours.
- Lead and motivate a team of drivers and operational staff to achieve business goals.
- Monitor and manage the transport budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld across all operations.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve any transport-related issues promptly.
- Utilize transport management systems to monitor performance and produce regular reports.
About You:
- Proven experience in a transport or logistics management role.
- Thorough knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using transport management software and MS Office.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
- A CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification is highly desirable but not essential
