This will be a busy and varied role, primarily supporting the Management Accountants with providing key information and be a main point of contact for first-line financial queries.

Additional responsibilities will include:

Reviewing all revenue, capital and grant budgets in alignment with the department timescales, with support and direction from the Management Accountants.
Identify and query all revenue and grant, non-pay, current month and year-to-date variances.
Calculate all accruals, prepayments, collaboration adjustments and external recharges and ensure they are input to the ledger on a monthly and year-end basis.
Conduct year-end duties in accordance with the year-end timetable, ensuring that all contributing stakeholders are aware of their obligations
Reconciliations of all force assets, including properties, vehicles, all vehicle fleet stocks and items of equipment at regular intervals throughout the financial year.
Complete month end tasks including cancelling / closing orders, creating code combinations, uninvoiced receipts reports and run receipt accruals.

Profile

For this Finance Officer position, we're looking for:

Ideally qualified with or studying towards AAT
Experience of working in a financial environment including budgetary control and year end procedures
Ability to analyse, critically evaluate and interpret financial information
Experience of using a computerised financial information system in a medium to large organisation
