Sheffield City Council's Facilities Management team are looking to appoint a Workplace Officer to help deliver cost-effective, customer focused, Facilities and 'Move Management' services.
You will support the effective use, maintenance, and development of the council’s property portfolio, enhancing the customer experience and contributing to the development of facilities management best practices.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver facilities management projects that support the effective use and development of the council's property portfolio.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and guidance in consultation with Facilities Management Service and corporate colleagues.
- Assist in the effective monitoring of all resources including financial, human, and material.
- Act as a client on construction projects, supervising the Corporate Repairs Service and any associated contractors or subcontractors, performing relevant tasks as necessary.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably within a facilities management or public sector environment.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of facilities management best practices and industry standards.
- Ability to effectively monitor and manage resources.
- Experience in construction project management and contract administration is highly desirable.
- Ability to carry out inspections/surveys and prepare/present technical reports and make recommendations.
- Knowledge/experience of statutory requirements for the maintenance of buildings including asbestos, fire regulations, legionella, and security systems.
