The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, managing and developing the Kings Camps marketing strategy and functions, helping us speak to the thousands of new and existing parents, carers or organisations who choose to use or partner with us for our services.
This role will be instrumental in shaping the strategic marketing vision for Kings Camps and Kings Active Foundation. You will ensure our marketing is industry-leading and effective across numerous channels, maximising Kings Camps child numbers and revenues and maintaining, protecting and developing our brand under the guidance of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Kings Active Foundation is a UK registered charity with a vision of a world where children love being active, and a mission to get children active, having fun and learning together. We deliver 90% of our work through our industry-leading, UK-wide sports and activity camps which help us to be present within UK communities, allowing us to deliver our vision and mission.
The Marketing Manager will be line-managed by the CEO and report into the SLT.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan
a. Work with the SLT to develop comprehensive and detailed 1- and 3-year digital, print and in-person marketing strategies, plans and campaigns
b. Agree child number and demographic targets and plan the resources and actions required to meet them
c. Monitor performance of current Marketing activities, developing and implementing new initiatives to improve customer experience and membership sales
d. Maintain and enhance the Kings Camps brand across digital, in-person and print platforms
2. Sell
a. Maximise bookings and the number of children getting active
b. Oversee and ensure timely and effective digital, in-person and print marketing campaigns
c. Grow our brand and reputation by communicating the Kings Camps values and personality in all member interactions
d. Monitor and manage marketing targets, providing weekly reports to the SLT with insights
e. Provide effective internal communications that ensure individuals and teams are well informed about all marketing activity, changes and results
3. Manage
a. Line manage and mentor the Digital and In-Person Marketing Team
b. Manage and grow relationships with external/outsourced marketing partners
c. Marketing budgets to ensure the effective allocation of resources
d. Team schedules
e. Provide accurate and timely management reporting and forecasting with insights
Working Patterns
- Based at Sheffield Head Office with a degree of home-working flexibility
- Office hours: 37.5 hours Mon-Fri within 8am-6pm, marketing services involve extended hours and weekend work during peak periods
- Report directly to CEO with monthly 1:1 review meetings
- Annual performance review
Ideal Personal Specification
- The candidate will need to be a self-starting, experienced senior manager
- At least 5 years experience in a Marketing Manager role
- Ability to demonstrate previous delivery of targets and objectives
- Experience of digital and print-based marketing campaigns and systems
- Vibrant team leader that enjoys working to targets and motivates those around them
- Expansive mind-set, ambitious for success and committed to being remarkable
- Experience of compiling reports, interpreting data and making recommendations
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Ability to demonstrate experience of planning and work strategically
