The role:

  • Design of HV networks - 11kV and 33kV - new connections, primary and protection systems
  • Specification of electrical equipment, such as switchgear and transformers
  • Power systems analysis - load flow, power studies etc
  • Liaison with DNOs, IDNOs and ICPs
  • Taking part in design meetings

The person:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related subject
  • Experience in the design of HV networks at 11kV or 33kV
  • Proven background in the specification of transformers and switchgear
  • Proficiency using power systems software, such as DigSilent or ETAP
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of HV engineering and the ability to design from first principles
