We are looking for dedicated and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistants to join our highly regarded specialist school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), as well as other special educational needs such as autism spectrum disorders and severe learning difficulties.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs specifically designed for students with PMLD.
  • Support students in classroom activities, ensuring engagement and participation.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Facilitate communication between students and staff, advocating for the studentsā€™ needs.
  • Monitor and record studentsā€™ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to support continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with SEN students, particularly those with PMLD, in a similar or transferable role.
  • Must possess a valid DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with PMLD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain patient and empathetic.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
