Primary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield S20 areaWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, afternoon only (8.30am-3.30pm)Start Date: As soon as possible on long term basis until July 2025Pay Rate: between £87.50-£97.50 per day
About the Role:
Join a dynamic team at a primary school Sheffield as a Teaching Assistant, where you'll support mainstream and SEN children in a Year 5 class. This long-term role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the child's educational journey, providing tailored support and fostering an environment conducive to their growth and development. Starting off as a long term temporary role until July 2025, the role then be extended or lead into a permanent job opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised support for children in Year 5 (mainstream and SEN).
- Collaborate with the class teacher to implement and adapt learning materials.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with primary aged children with SEN is essential.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse learning needs.
- Effective communication skills, both with the child and the wider school community.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
