Industrial Design Electrical Engineer

We are working with a fabulous PE backedclient to support with the appointment of an 'Industrial Design Electrical Engineer'. This role is client facing wiht a national client basein the construction/aggregatres and Food/Drinks manufacturing sectors. If you hold a HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and a C&G 2382-18 training and familiarity wiuth cable calculation software and electrical CAD we would like to hear from you.

The main remit of the 'Industrial Design Electrical Engineer' role is to provide leadership and industry knowledge as well as business development, technical and project management skills to fulfill the needs of the customers as well as winning new business and projects.

Core duties include:

• Meet existing and new customers to seek or develop opportunities and understand customer situation
• Understand / define the engineering requirements with the customer and undertake any agreed drawings, design calculations, software etc
• Follow up your quotations to ensure they have been received and provide the necessary information
• Review issued quotes on CRM once per week and update their status
• Manage project budgets, oversee purchasing, avert scope creep, attend project meetings, collate all relevant technical documents including test and commissioning docs, CAD records and software
• Communicate constantly with the customers about progress, variations and any other customer concerns
• Satisfy yourself that the appropriate RAMS have been prepared for any planned work and personally intervene to correct any situation where this is not the case
• Liaise regularly with operations management providing progress updates, arranging labour and materials, organising H&S supervision and generally agreeing actions and support needed for project success
• Be diligent about management and administration duties, making timely and informative contribution
• Attend the monthly Sales and Engineering meetings

Qualifications / Skills required:

• HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or an experienced based equivalent
• Successfully completed C&G 2382-18 (BS7671 18th Edition) training
• Familiarity with cable calculation software (e.g. Trimble, ElectricalOM)
• Familiarity with electrical CAD (e.g. Autocad, Eplan)
• Practical competence to satisfy the requirements of JIB approved or technical grade electrician
• Ability to set out and instruct work based upon drawings, specifications and other documents
• Familiarity with various electrical legislation such as Electricity at Work Regulations, PUWER etc
• Familiarity with relevant British Standards Code of Practice.
